Hello again everyone. It is Sunday today, and yes; this is a regular post. I know I said that I would try and post a video of me talking about my new shoes. However, when they arrived at my house I found them to be too small. So I'm gonna exchange them for a larger size. Maybe next week then? Idk. Anyway here I am blogging again with words. So old-fashioned right?
So on Friday we had a basketball game and I got injured. Now you have to understand. Our JV team only has six players. If you know anything about basketball, you know that you play with five guys. Which means only one sub. Here's the catch. Our one inside post player got injured. And we were forced to play two games without him. Without a huge part of our inside defense and rebounding. The second game was the one on Friday. At like two seconds left in the half, I went up for a rebound, and I came down on one of the other team's guy's foot. At least I think that's what happened. I'm not really sure. Anyway I could hear and feel a 'pop' in my ankle and I felt immediate pain. So I sat on the bench and watched as the half finished. The cool thing here, though, is that the other team took one of their players out, because our team only had four to play with. They could have played with five, as far as the rules of the game went, but they chose not too. Pretty cool, eh?
My coach taped up my ankle really good in the locker room during half-time, and I decided to gut it out. Like the wimpy man I am! Needless to say I was pretty useless. Even though I scored more points after I got injured then before. Explain that one. Also needless to say we lost. So after icing it a couple times, it feels a lot better today, and I hope to practice tomorrow, and then play in another game on Tuesday. I should be good by then.
Okay other stuff. So today my fam and I went down to Castlewood, the birthplace of my father. One of my Dad's best friends from high-school recently died in a car accident and so we went to attend his funeral. So after the pastor had told a little bit about Brent and his life, he had people tell any stories they thought of that recalled to mind the good times they had with him. The pastor then tried to get us all to think about what people would be saying in remembrance at our funerals. It really made me think, ya know. Anyone who said anything could only say good and great things about him. I'm pretty sure that's what everyone wants. And the only person who can give people good memories is ourselves.
So yeah that was kind of thought provoking. For me anyway. Okay so not a whole lot has happened since last week. Other than what I wrote (and droned on about) above. Alright well I will try to get a video up sometime soon about my kool kicks. Yeah. I will talk to y'all
~later (oh, and go Patriots)

You mean - GO GIANTS!! (You traitor) :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, funerals have a way of doing that - make you think. Hallelujah for salvation - eh?!
mm
Ouch! That sounds painful - praying that it heals up very soon so you can get back to shooting the rock :-)
