I can honestly say that I am very glad to have my parents back home.
They just spent a week in Costa Rica for their 25th wedding anniversary, so my elder sis India was in charge of my two brothers and I. My parents left last Thursday, and just came back yesterday. They took Indi's camera with them, and took like a million pictures. Well, only about eight hundred. My sister has a photo blog called Yakar Photography ( http://yakarphotography.blogspot.com/ ). She is really a great photographer, and she has some great pics there. She doesn't have the pictures of my parents trip up yet, but they will be on the site soon.
Anyhow, mom and dad's coming back, made it so that we were able to go back to our own home. You see, a large snow storm dumped the white powder on our home and land, so we were stuck. We had to wait an entire day for the plow-guy to come and plow us out. Once that happened, we then decided to go and stay with some friends of ours who live in town. We do a lot of activities in town, and we live about twenty minutes out, so driving on the icy roads to get into town was not safe. Anyway, we stayed with our friends, and were thus closer to all of our stuff, and were able to get to places with ease. The best thing about staying with them, however, was that they have a home theater. Basically there are like eight overstuffed lazy boys to choose from, and a giant screen the size of a small car. And there was incredible surround sound.
Surround sound is where there a speakers around the room, surrounding the listener with glorious sounds. For all you living-your-entire-life-on-the-farm, home-schooled, movie-illiterate bean-pods. ( bean-pods may have been a little far :P ).
After staying the better part of the week with our illustrious friends, and having two basketball games canceled in the process, we finally came back to our home. (There was a game canceled today as well). Back to our sweet beds of comfort. Back to our lovable kitties. Back to the two feet of snow that covers our yard. Yeah, we have about that much (thanks a lot Al Gore!). My brothers and I did make the most awesome snow fort though. Okay, so some cool things that happened since my last post: I got the coolest looking shoes in the world. Thanks to my awesome sister! (Check out the pic http://www.tweakfootwear.com/Shoes/the-mythical-shoe/ I got the blue). Also, I bought the new Lecrae CD: Rehab: The Overdose. My basketball team won another game (or was it two?). We got a record low negative 50 degrees one night. So don't complain about what cold you are having!
So yeah. pretty uneventful couple of weeks, but I didn't go completely out of my mind. Even though certain others will say different... Well, stay warm in this freezing world. Pura Vida!
